Darius Hsu
Chair
Hello! My name is Darius Hsu, and I am a current junior studying at Taipei American School. It is my utmost pleasure to serve as your Head Chair of the United Nations Security Council. Never would I have thought of joining MUN until my 8th-grade history teacher asked me to give it a try since I talked a lot in her class. Ever since then, this activity has a defining part of my identity. What I love most about MUN is the community on-island. Initially, conferences were filled with anxiety and awkwardness, but over time, familiar faces made it special. For newer delegates, take this opportunity to step forward and make that first move, whether it be a speech, an amendment, or even just a POI. If the first day doesn't go as you imagined or hoped, that's ok. I promise the second day of debate always gets better, as you get to know delegates and your chairs. Please spend adequate time understanding both issues discussed, and I look forward to seeing you all in June!

Cobie Lee
Co-Chair
Hi there, I’m Cobie, a sophomore from Kang Chiao International School Xiugang Campus, and it is my honor to serve as your Deputy President for the Security Council.
I promised myself to never offer clichés about diplomacy or leadership in my self-introduction, so I will offer you a few sincere reflections from the other side of the table, things I wish I had understood earlier as a delegate. Confidence does not just come from speaking loudly or frequently. It comes from knowing what you are talking about. So come prepared, and preparation means more than reading your own country’s policy. Know your country’s allies and adversaries. Know which countries you are expected to agree with, and which ones you are expected to challenge. Understand the incentives behind their actions. Practically speaking, you should be able to answer three questions at any point in this conference: What does my country want? Who can help me achieve it? And what am I willing to concede in order to get there?
Lastly, although NEMUN 2026 will mark my 21st conference and my 7th time chairing, what has kept me here is not just the “passion”, but curiosity, the recognition that every topic carries layers of complexity, and every delegate carries a perspective shaped by experiences different from my own. It is in listening, questioning, and rethinking what we assume we know that this process becomes meaningful. I look forward to meeting you all in June!
